The artistic work Solidaridad is about the external perspective of Chilean Refugees on the former GDR. More than 25 years after the fall of the wall contemporary witnesses from Leipzig, Dresden, Berlin and Greifswald who have returned to Chile take a look at their life in the former GDR and how they experienced it being political refugees. The subjective view into the private archives of the former Chilean GDR citizens is focusing on how remembrance is constituting itself over photography and texts. This private view of remembrance is combined with photography and montage of texts form the Chilean Archive of the Museo de la Memoria y Derechos Humanos which is supposed to visualise the fragmented collective memory. Between 1973 and 1980 about 1.500 Chileans were fleeing to the GDR from the Pinotchet dictatorship. In the GDR the found shelters while the experienced drastic turns in their biographies. Many Chilean intellectuals were housed in factories of the GDR and hence came in contact with different social classes.
